Common states of 6061 aluminum sheet:

The T6 state is commonly used for 6061 aluminum alloy. For medium-thick aluminum sheets, the process includes quenching, slicing, stretching, aging treatment, sawing, polishing, and packaging. The entire production cycle takes about 10 days. After solid solution heat treatment, no cold working is required. Straightening and leveling can be done without affecting the mechanical properties.

The F state is a free machining state of 6061 aluminum alloy sheets, suitable for special products requiring processing hardening and heat treatment conditions during forming. The production cycle for the F state is short: slicing, sawing, polishing (optional, depending on customer requirements), and packaging. The entire process can be completed smoothly and shipped in 3 days. The mechanical properties of the F state are not specified. Customers can further heat treat the F state according to their requirements for the desired usage. The corresponding price is relatively cheaper.

The O state is obtained by fully annealing 6061 aluminum alloy sheets to produce products with lower strength. It is suitable for thin sheets of 6061 aluminum alloy below 8.0. The production process includes cold rolling thickness, bending and cleaning, complete annealing, flying shear cutting (or bending and cleaning into finished products), and packaging and storage. The production cycle is second only to the T6 state.
